Bibs

There hasn't been near enough time to sew presents for the babies and for my loved ones since we took on the daunting task of building the Lakehouse. But I  manage to sneak in a few things every now and then. My sewing room/craft room is mostly set up but not very organized yet and if you know me, I crave organization. I detest clutter. I am hoping over the winter I will be able to sew more projects. Project #1 is quilting a baby blanket for baby #2. I purchased the cutest fabric with kangaroos on it since "she" will be born in Australia. While I was there I purchased some matching fabric so I am hoping to start and finish before Christmas. Gotta keep the little wiggle worm warm in the Lakehouse.

Here are 3 bib projects I made for Sawyer:

Sew blue jean squares and embroidered the goose on then cut the shape of the bib out

Sewed flannel right sides together and then turn out right side out and sewed a seam close to the edge

Trying three styles of bibs, see which ones work best for mommy and baby

The three I came up with

Sewed fabric strips together and added embroidery done on blue jean to the centre

Sewing embroidery piece onto front of bib

Back of the front piece of fabric. Terry is being pinned to right sides to sew for backing

Sewing along the edge of the bib close to seam

Practicing a buttonhole. I used a button for closure on this bib but I think I prefer the velcro or snaps but the button was awfully cute

Terry towel backing is nice and absorbant but the flannel is nice for a light bib

Added an extra velcro on this one for room to grow
Sawyer was just starting to learn to eat solids in June. He is such a pro now

I need more bibs grandma
